The Celestron f/6.3 Reducer for Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes reduces the focal ratio and focal length by 37%, making your scope much faster for photography and providing wider visual views.
The four-element multicoated optical design provides 41mm of clear aperture and reduces exposure times for astrophotography by 3x.
Note: not compatible with EdgeHD or Meade ACF telescopes. Instead, are available for each model.
The f/6.3 reducer threads easily onto the rear cell of your Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (or onto the reducer plate supplied with C11 and C14 models). The reducer has male 2"-SC threads on the camera/eyepiece-side and a generous backfocus requirement of 105mm.
All air-to-glass optical surfaces have multiple layers of coatings for maximum light transmission and colour correction. Additionally, each lens has blackened edges to minimize internal reflections and maximize contrast. The CNC-machined aluminium housing keeps the elements secure and precisely aligned.
While the f/6.3 reducer does correct a small amount of field curvature, it does not fully correct this. For serious deep sky imaging, the EdgeHD series is preferred.
